What is The Importance Of Directions In Vastu Shastra
North, South, East and West are the four basic directions. Apart from these four directions in Vastu Science, there are 4 other directions. Akash and Patal have also been included as directions in this. In this way, by adding four directions, four Vidisha and Akash Patal, the total number of directions in this science is considered to be ten. The direction between the original directions is called Ishan, Agneya, Nairitya and Vayavya.
EAST DIRECTION IN VASTU SHASTRA
This direction is considered very important in Vastu Shastra because it is the direction of sun rise. The lord of this direction is Indra. This direction should be kept most open while constructing a building. It is a factor of happiness and prosperity. Due to Vastu defects in this direction, the people living in the house remain ill. Trouble and worry remain. There is also an obstacle in the path of progress.

SOUTHEAST DIRECTION IN VASTU SHASTRA
The direction between east and south is called the fire direction. Agnidev is the lord of this direction. Due to Vastu defects in this direction, the atmosphere of the house remains turbulent and stressful. There is loss of money. Mental troubles and worries remain. When this direction is auspicious, the people living in the building remain energetic and healthy. The construction of kitchen in this direction is best from the point of view of Vastu. This direction is auspicious for all work related to fire.
SOUTH DIRECTION IN VASTU
Lord of this direction is Yama Dev. This direction is a symbol of happiness and prosperity in Vastu Shastra. This direction should not be kept blank. If there is Vastu defect in the south direction, one has to face loss of respect and problems in daily employment. This direction is most suitable for the house owner's residence.
SOUTHWEST DIRECTION IN VASTU SHASTRA
The direction between south and west is called southwest direction. Vastudosh of this direction gives accident, disease and mental disturbance. It also contaminates conduct and behavior. This direction should be kept heavy while constructing the building. The lord of this direction is a demon. When this direction is free from Vastu defect, the person living in the building remains healthy and his/her respect also increases.
NORTHEAST DIRECTION IN VASTU SHASTRA
Shiva is the master of the north-east direction, toilets should never be built in this direction. Water is obtained in abundance by making tubewells, wells etc. in this direction.
